Executive Staff

Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is owned by its members who govern and set policy through a 9-member board of trustees. The Chief Executive Officer and his staff carry out daily management of Wiregrass Electric.

Mike McWaters was appointed CEO of Wiregrass Electric Cooperative in 2005.  A Wiregrass area native, he has a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Jacksonville State University. Mike served as Vice President of Member Services at Cullman Electric Cooperative prior to joining Wiregrass Electric. He is a member of the Geneva Rotary and serves with many community, industry and economic development organizations.

Mike and his wife Kristy are members of Wiregrass Electric and live in Cool Springs in south Coffee County. They have three children, Seth, Sydney, and Sarah.   Both Mike and Kristy are natives of the Wiregrass region, having graduated from New Brockton High School. They are active members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise where Mike is a Deacon and Sunday School teacher..

"We have had our challenges and made many changes in my tenure as CEO of Wiregrass Electric," says Mike, "But we have been through these changes together -- our members and employees -- and all have embraced the changes and welcomed more efficient service. Our goal is excellence and together we can achieve!"

Leslie Moreland joined the Wiregrass Electric team in 2005 as CFO. He has a bachelor's degree in business and computer science from Troy University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1981, and he received his MBA from Troy in 2007. A Dothan native, Les was the 1972 valedictorian of Dothan High School. Prior to Wiregrass Electric, he served as CFO at Summerford Truck Line, Inc. and Jeffers Inc. in Dothan.

Les and his wife, Martha, live in Dothan in the home his father built in 1954. They have two sons, Josh and Caleb, and are active members of Harvest United Methodist Church. Les is active in the Dothan Rotary Club and serves as treasurer of the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center Board.

"Wiregrass Electric is a place where I can utilize my 30-plus years of experience in finance, accounting and information systems," says Les. "I can use this to help manage and control the distribution costs of bringing electricity to our members. I like the challenge of implementing new technology to help our employees be as efficient as possible, so our members can enjoy the lowest possible rates."

Bradley Max Kimbro joined the staff of Wiregrass Electric in 2006 as Director of Member Services. Originally from Brantley, Ala., he graduated Troy University in 1991 where he majored in Business Administration and Marketing. Brad has been employed as a member of senior management with some of the most progressive electric cooperatives in the nation including Baldwin EMC in Summerdale, Ala., as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations; Power South Energy in Andalusia, Ala.; and Peace River Electric Cooperative in the Tampa and Orlando area as Vice President of Marketing and Member Services.  As Director of Member Services, Kimbro is responsible for the company’s marketing, public relations, communications, customer service and energy services departments. 

Brad is married to the former Judith Duke, and he has two daughters, Ashlynn and Madison. They live in Dothan and are members of Memphis Baptist Church where Brad sings in the choir. He is very involved in many different community activities including the Dothan Rotary Club and Keep The Wiregrass Beautiful. In his free time, Brad enjoys golfing, fishing, duck hunting, riding bikes and of course, spending time with his family. 

“It is a true pleasure to work close to where I grew up and where I have so many friends," says Brad. "Working for a not-for-profit electric cooperative like Wiregrass Electric is very satisfying to me because it is more than just a job…it is an opportunity to truly help improve people’s lives.  Whether it is through providing electricity or through the many other various programs, products and services we offer, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative has a vested interest in our local community because WEC employees not only work in the Wiregrass region, we live here too!”

Danny Ealum joined Wiregrass Electric Cooperative in 2003 as system engineer. He has an electrical engineering degree from Auburn University and twenty-five years experience in utility distribution engineering before joining the Wiregrass Electric team. He was promoted to Director of System Operations in 2007.

Danny and his wife, Barbara, live in Coffee Springs and are members of Wiregrass Electric. They have two children, Emily and John, and are active members of Goodman Baptist Church. He is a native of the community of Pine Level, Ala., and graduated from Marbury High School in Autauga County. In his free time, Danny enjoys reading, church activities and a little tennis.

"It is challenging and rewarding to be a part of helping along the new technology changes that are improving the way we do business," says Danny. "I enjoy working with a group of employees who keep a good attitude while giving their best each day."

 

Tiffany Howell

Tiffany Howell joined the Wiregrass Electric team in June of 2007.  She was born and raised in Ozark, Ala., and is a 2000 graduate of George W. Long High School in Skipperville.  She attended Auburn University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Communications in 2004.  Upon college graduation, Tiffany worked at WTVY-TV in Dothan as an Anchor/Producer. She volunteers her time for many organizations on behalf of Wiregrass Electric Cooperative including The Geneva County Children’s Policy Council, Wiregrass Area United Way and the Warren Beck Youth Leadership Program.

It’s at Auburn where Tiffany met her husband, Adam, of Slocomb. They reside just outside of Hartford and are members of Wiregrass Electric. Tiffany and her husband are active members of First Baptist Church in Slocomb.  In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys baking, reading, gardening, traveling and exercising. 

“I’m so blessed to be a part of the Wiregrass Electric Family," says Tiffany. "When I left television, to be able to spend more time with my family, I didn’t realize such a wonderful working experience and opportunity was waiting for me right at home.  From my very first day, I knew this is where I was supposed to be.   The people are wonderful, and I enjoy every aspect of my job.  WEC employees truly care about one another and for each and every member.”
