Board Meeting Schedule

Board meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at at the headquarters in Hartford, Alabama, unless another meeting location, time, and/or date is set. Check regularly for changes in the schedule.

Members are welcome to attend Board meetings; however, we request that interested members call in advance at 1-800-239-4602 so that WEC may make appropriate accommodations since meetings are held after office hours.

Board Meeting Rules of Conduct

Board Nomination by Petition

Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is committed to open and democratic elections for its Board of Trustees. The election procedure for Trustees allows Board candidates to be nominated by a petition of 15 members who reside in their district.

Eligible members interested in running for a position on the Board must fill out and submit a petition prior to Annual Meeting as specified by the By Laws of the Cooperative. The requirements to serve on the Board are listed in Article IV, Trustees, of the Bylaws, and candidates will be furnished a map showing Director districts. Contact Tiffany Howell at 1-800-239-4602 for petition and Trustee information.

Completed and signed petition must be mailed or delivered to the CEO no later than 60 days preceding Annual Meeting (in October) for the candidate to be placed on the ballot for the current year's elections. The date for the 2011 Annual Meeting will be set at a later date.

Districts for election by year are listed below:

• 2011 -- Districts 3, 6 and 9
• 2012 -- Districts 2, 5 and 8
• 2013 -- Districts 1, 4 and 7
